The best just got better. The Lowa Zephyr Mk.2 GTX Mid represents the next stage in the evolution of the legendary Lowa Zephyr mission, exercise and operational boot. A combination of agility, lightness and stability makes it ideal for use in the military, police, special units and by regular forces personnel. The mid-cut upper provides the necessary support during fast roping and allows full freedom of movement during close combat. The protected medial side of the boot prevents premature wear and tear caused by fast roping. The upper is made from a combination of water-repellent, tear-resistant suede and abrasion-resistant, breathable Cordura material. An innovative locking hook allows the lacing to be individually adjusted in the forefoot and ankle area. The waterproof, highly breathable Gore-Tex membrane is ideal for use in moderate or wet environments.
With the Lowa 'Monowrap' frame, the midsole provides the very best comfort. This three dimensional midsole design was developed by Lowa in 1995. The frame comfortably cradles the foot and supports it when the boot wearer ventures across uneven surfaces. In addition the closed hooks prevent the boot snagging on the rope or rigging lines and heel cushioning lessens the force of the impact with the ground.
These Lowa boots are EN ISO 20347 certified and are classified as occupational footwear. This means that at the very least they can be expected to offer a reasonable degree of protection against oil, water, and penetrative forces. The Lowa X-TRAC MILITARY sole meets the highest anti-slip standards, providing optimal slip protection on slick, wet and oily surfaces, as well as good grip on terrain. An outsole designed by Lowa with an optimised rubber compound to provide good grip.
The two-zone lacing system means the forefoot and upper have their own separate adjustable lacing zones. As a result, the boot can be individually adapted to the anatomy of the foot and laced in different ways for ascents and descents.
100% polyurethane (PU) midsole, a soft plastic that has very good cushioning properties. Using PU, the soles of boots become lightweight and functionally flexible.
